Guides to sending Limited quantities

Please ensure you read through our limited quantities policy before enquiring about limited quantity consignments

Limited Quantities Policy

1. Whenever Dangerous Goods are packaged and labelled as Limited Quantity (LQ) in accordance with Chapter 3.4 of ADR, APC will, (with a few exceptions) carry these goods to UK mainland destinations by road.

2. It is the responsibility of the consignor/customer to classify, package and mark the goods for transport.

3. APC reserve the right to refuse any Limited Quantity or alter and amend this Policy at any time.

4. Failure to mark, label and package the goods correctly or to conceal DG or to mark as DG something that is not, is a criminal offence and could result in prosecution by the authorities.

5.To fully comply with the LQ requirements the materials presented for carriage must be packed and labelled in accordance with the current edition of the European Agreement Concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR).

a) Liquids should be labelled as such and have orientation labels affixed.
b) The consignment label should be fixed so the orientation labels are pointing upwards.
c) Paint cans must be clipped or sealed.
d) Outer packaging should be suitable, secure and undamaged.
e) The consignment must be sent as fragile on the LQ service option.

THE CARRIAGE OF ANY LIMITED QUANTITY VIA THE NETWORK, ANYWHERE BY AIR OR SEA IS PROHIBITED BY APC POLICY.
